Home Learning Questionnaire
ELC and S c h o o l N e w s
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family safe and well.
Some of the staff and myself will be working in the Eyemouth Learning Community Hub provision at Eyemouth Primary School from Monday 8th June for one week. There is also provision for ELC children which is based at the Highway Day Nursery in Eyemouth which some ELC staff are supporting learning with. Staff from all Learning Community Primary Schools and from Eyemouth High School have helped support the Hub provision for the children of key workers and invited families. We will continue to do so throughout this period of uncertainty.
Glow Teams Parental Engagement Questionnaire and SBC Survey
Please complete the attached questionnaire and return it to myself by email to the Reston Mailbox, on email@example.com I would appreciate if these can be returned by Friday 29th May this will help inform our next steps.
Scottish Borders Council issued a Home Learning Survey to all families on Friday 15th May, please ensure you have completed your views by the 31st May. Here is the link:
This is to help gauge a central response to home learning across our local authority.
Reston Rattle Snake
If you live near the school, why not decorate a stone and add it to our Reston Rattle snake, whom we’ve named ‘Rocco’. We will update the schools Facebook page as he gets longer. Rocco is located at the double gates in front of the big playground. We can’t wait to see him grow!
To supplement home learning online we have the opportunity to take part in a local project to make a giant patchwork quilt. All schools in the Eyemouth Learning Community Cluster have been invited to take part so the quilt should be an impressive size. All completed squares can be posted to Mrs Lathe at Eyemouth High School, details are on the poster below or dropped in at the Eyemouth Primary School Hub on Coldingham Road in Eyemouth. If you are unable to do this, please get in touch and I can arrange to collect from Reston Village Shop. Thank you for your support with this.
Primary 7 Updates:
Thank you for your patience. SBC are in touch with our insurers and as soon as an update is provided, I will inform you of when your refund will be made.
P7 Hooded Sweatshirts
These have been ordered and will be presented to the children when it is safe to do so. We would like to mark their leaving of Primary School in a special and fitting way for this fantastic group of P7 learners.
P7 Library Books
Please can all P7 children let Miss Eaves know of a novel of their choice which will be gifted to them on behalf of the Reston Parent Council Forum. Please can your son or daughter let us know the reasons for this so that I can arrange with Miss Bell and Miss Moulin to order their novel choices? These novels will be presented to the children when we mark them as leavers, and in tradition they will be left in the school library for other children to enjoy reading in years to come.

East Berwickshire Churches
East Berwickshire Churches are inviting pupils to hang a heart, rainbow or note on any church gate or railing in our area between Thursday 21st May (Ascension Day) and Sunday 31st May (Pentecost Sunday). Any size, shape or colour but make it from waterproof material if possible, or put it in a poly bag. Write on your personal prayer or wish for the world at this difficult time, coping with the stress of the covid-19 virus. Thank you. Rev Norman Whyte.
Transition to P1
We will be sharing a PowerPoint presentation and welcome to P1 Booklet for all of the children who will be starting Primary 1 with us next session. This information will be issued to those new families on Friday 22nd May. For children who are starting Primary 1 at Ayton Primary School, please be assured that Mrs Donkin, Head Teacher and I have been liaising about transition and she will be contacting new families in the near future.

Reminders about responding to Emails and Questionnaires
Please check your emails on a regular basis as we are often asked to feedback information to the centre at SBC Head Quarters.
Please do get in touch if there is anything I can support you with. The staff and I are missing all of the children very much and we look forward to when our school reopens and we can learn in the way the children are accustomed to.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
